Want to join in?
This FREE community event is open to families, groups, and businesses who would like to decorate their car boots and hand out sweets. Signing up is free, and it simply helps us know how many spooky boots to expect on the night.

FAQ

Is there a cost to attend / sign up?No – the event is free. There is no charge for families to come, or for people/businesses to decorate a boot and hand out sweets.
How do I sign up a car boot? You can sign up using the online form on the website – just fill out your name, number of cars, and email if you’d like an event reminder. This helps organisers know how many decorated cars to expect.
What are the requirements for people who decorate cars?Arrive early (from 6pm) to set up; decorate your boot in a family friendly / Halloween style; bring enough sweets to share; and please be safe and respectful.
What age is this event suitable for?The event is family-friendly and open to all children and teens (up to around 17). Adults are welcome to join the fun too – costumes encouraged!
Do I need to bring my own sweets / treats?Yes – everyone handing out treats should bring their own sweets. Make sure treats are individually wrapped / hygienic if possible. Small alternatives like stickers or little party favours are also welcome.
What happens if the weather is bad?The event will go ahead rain or shine – so bring your coats, umbrellas, or even your witchy capes! Only in the case of extreme weather (think gale-force winds or thunder and lightning) would we need to cancel, and we’d post updates on social media if that happens.
Can local businesses take part?Yes. Businesses are welcome to decorate car boots and hand out sweets.
Will there be toilet facilities / refreshments?Yes – Hafan yr Afon will be open for the duration of the event, with access to toilets and refreshments.
What happens after the event ends? For safety, cars must stay in place until the event finishes at 8pm. Once it’s over, please pack up and exit the parking lot carefully – watch out for little ghouls and goblins as you leave!
